How to Apply for a Wish
Wishes are intended to fulfill a desire for a better quality of life, or support a quest for life-gratifying endeavors. Knowing that
wishes can come true, directly affects service members' spirits, in addition to the families and communities that support
them. Whether realizing a dream to sail, go to a ball game, see a family member who lives far away or take a vacation
to a special destination, The Denis V. Cooper Foundation honors the goals and desires of our brave military service
members and their families, by granting 'Wishes for Heroes".
1) Who is Eligible: Must be a Military Veteran, who served honorably
2) Who Can Apply: A qualified Military Veteran, a Family Member or Close Friend (for a Military Veteran)
3) What information do we need to consider the Wish request: A copy of the Veteran's DD 214. A brief description of their illness and diagnosis.
4) Contact information for the person requesting, the wish to be granted.
5) What is the Wish? Ex: Go on a Fishing trip, attend a ball game, or see a family member or friend who lives far away, etc...
So how are wishes granted? It is all made possible from the support we receive, in the form of donations (in both funds, services and time).
As funds, as well as donations of time and services accrue, the ability to grant... "Wishes for Heroes" is made possible.
Note Regarding Wish Requests: While we always consider the entire wish requested, please be aware that we are not always able to
accommodate every aspect of the wish if it is chosen to be granted.
